If you are a trumpet or clarinet player that wants to maintain their chops, and don't have enough opportunity to play, then I have lots of Bb duet books to play out of. I myself play trumpet, and play these duets with friends when I visit them, but generally live out of the area. So it would be great to play with someone locally, hopefully on a rather frequent basis. You would need to be able to sight read fairly easily. Not perfectly, but with what I would call "sight reading competency". This would not be a teaching situation, but rather just a casual " be able to play what you see" with a few stops now and then, because we make some mistakes where we'd need to repeat some things occasionally. Tempos would be selected that would be comfortable to us both.
I can imagine that if a violin player could tune their instrument up a full step, then I could played muted with you. I don't know if that's possible without breaking strings.
I myself am retired, but still very active musically and practice daily. This might be a great opportunity for a high school of college student player to improve their reading skills and build up their chops. Or for an adult of any age just wanting to play more. I know that after a session of playing these things, I always feel like I've had a great workout.
