At the bottom of South Beach Park Playground at 3400 Barnard Way. Between Lifeguard Tower #28 & #29. Convenient Parking : Lot 5 , 2701 Barnard Way, Santa Monica, CA 90405 With light facilitation and intention, we dance, liberate, and celebrate to eclectic tunes spun by our live DJ (from tribal house, to electronic, to old school funk, classics, and hip hop) streaming into silent disco headsets, giving you the freedom to dance, connect, and have space for full self expression. The sandy beach is your dance floor...the waves and the setting sun is your backdrop. Event Flow: 5:30-6:00- Check-in 6:00-6:30- Opening Circle with Live music by Vir McCoy 6:30-7:30- Silent Disco Dance with Heather Christie 7:30-8:00- Meditation, Music and closing circle with Live Music What to bring: water bottle, extra warm layers for warmth and the final meditation, your mask. PARKING DIRECTIONS:Lot 5 -2701 Barnard Way, Santa Monica, CA 90405Street Parking is also available Meet Heather Cristie & Vir McCoy:Coming from diverse backgrounds in music & healing arts, Heather and Vir come together to create a soulful and uplifting sound. Vir co-founded the world beat band Hamsa Lila and toured with Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead, while healing himself from Lyme's Disease and writing a book on it. Heather, meanwhile, comes from a musical theatre and expressive arts therapy background. She is a triple threat as a singer, songwriter and music producer. Both are native to California, and bring a heart-opening fusion of funk, electro-soul, devotional, world, and R&B to the table. The wave silent disco, is more than just a community dance event. It's a movement to end loneliness worldwide. A portion of the proceeds of ticket sales and donations, supports ALMA, our non profit organization that addresses loneliness and isolation in seniors citizens through movement, arts, and intergenerational connection!!
