TAMPA, FL — Hillsborough Community College Ybor City Campus Gallery 114@HCC presents A Paradoxical Synthesis, featuring work by artists Tony Krol and Michelle Sawyer of Illsol. A Paradoxical Synthesis is a visual narrative of how artists Tony Krol and Michelle Sawyer, who work collectively as Illsol, merge contrasting thought processes and approaches into one cohesive style. While the contrasting methods are apparent in their murals, A Paradoxical Synthesis offers a more intimate exploration of the pair's artistic dichotomy. Through the display of both small- and large-scale artworks, their exhibition in Gallery 114@HCC provides a closer examination of how each individual's influences, experiences and inspiration have shaped their collective aesthetic. The exhibition will be on display Aug. 16 to Sept. 23. A closing reception is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 16, from 5 to 8 p.m. A tour of the exhibition with artists Tony Krol and Michelle Sawyer will begin at 6 p.m. in the gallery. Gallery 114@HCC is located on the first floor of the Performing Arts building, HCC Ybor City Campus. Gallery hours are Monday–Wednesday 9 a.m.–4 p.m., Thursday 9 a.m.–7 p.m., Friday 9 a.m.–2 p.m., closed Saturday and Sunday. Street parking can be found around the Ybor City campus or the following parking garages: Palm Garage (2012 N. 13th St.) and Centro Ybor Garage (1500 E. 5th Ave.).
