Description

DARKWAVE, a Tribute to 80's Alternative and New Wave, has been on a hiatus since before the pandemic. We recently had a reunion gig and are open to something more ongoing. The fellers have been playing this material for more than ten years, we have anywhere from 30-40 songs ready to go, and everyone is an experienced, multi-band musician. Our primary operating mode for a long time was utilizing one of our current members as a keyboardist / saxophonist, with bass being played by both our singer and backup tracks. The thinking today is 100% live, and our keyboardist wants to concentrate on sax and bass. For Darkwave, that means he'll be playing bass full time (except perhaps one or two sax songs) and we would need a killer keyboardist. Could that be you? A few things you should know: - We have all pro gear and a few locations we could practice at. We've also done rentals in Menlo Park that would suffice (comes with PA and Drums). - Practice 2-3 times a month tops - as long as we come in knowing our parts. We're all adults and have done this for a long time. - We know a bunch of bar and event bookers. We could get gigs pretty easily. Once we got in a groove we could go for bigger gigs (with Covid still keeping things up in the air we're not running to play Joe's Bar in jam packed conditions). So are you an experienced, sane keyboardist looking for a cool side gig (that could become something more)? We're all 40's / 50's, looking to have some fun, add new material, and jam on our classics! Cheers, DW Bands we play: Depeche Mode Billy Idol INXS The Cure The Cult Modern English Echo and The Bunnymen Wall of Voodoo The Fixx Psychedelic Furs Bauhaus David Bowie Duran Duran Flock of Seagulls And many many more...
