First, today's weather: Clear throughout the day. High: 101 Low: 61. Here are the top stories today in Sacramento: One diner got the birthday of a lifetime as he happened to be celebrating his big day right across the street from where a construction crane toppled. "This kind of happened to be up my alley. I'm a civil engineer and I've dealt with cranes through my career." Rick Poeppelman, the birthday boy and civil engineer of 38 years, said. The crew was able to right the crane, but it took several hours, during which time Twelfth Street between K and L Streets was closed. (KCRA3) Police have located a missing at-risk 60-year-old woman. Francis Flores was last seen leaving her apartment in North Sacramento near Kokomo Drive and E Commerce Way. She was considered at risk due to medical issues and the fact that she is non-verbal, but she has now been recovered. (ABC10) The Sacramento SPCA has taken in some new animals from Plumas County and they're adorable! The SPCA is helping out by taking these animals to leave more room for those impacted by the Dixie Fire. They're almost ready for their forever homes! (Facebook)An investigation is underway after a shooting on a SacRT bus Friday night. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive. The suspect fled the scene before authorities arrived. (KCRA3)Elk Grove police received a call for medical aid Sunday morning, but when they arrived at the home the person answering the door would not let them inside. He also would not follow their instructions, so they arrested him. When they entered the home they found a deceased victim with a stab wound. Police said the victim and the person in custody knew each other but no additional information was released. (FOX40) Today in Sacramento Shake off the weekend at Mountain Bike Monday at the Sacramento Valley Conservancy. The self-guided trails are open exclusively to riders between 4:30 pm-8:00 pm. This hike is perfect this time of year because you'll be shielded from the sun. In fact, it gets chilly in there, so dress accordingly. It's National Rum Day, so why not celebrate it aloha style?
