To honor those whose lives were taken because of Anti-Trans Violence. TDOR2021 The Transgender Health & Wellness Center is hosting TDOR 2021 in Multiple cities. Please scroll below to get an update for locations. Details, Time & location are subject to change. Transgender Day of Remembrance often called TDoR was founded in 1999 by Gwendolyn Ann Smith. It has grown to a global moment to have a vigil to read the names of the transgender, gender non-conforming and intersex (TGI) persons that have been murdered for being TGI. Although, in a more supportive administration the previous administration with state conservative activist have nurtured an environment where ignorance is encouraged and rewarded. Last year there were a little over two dozen reported murders of known TGI in this nation and this year there is 45 as of July 2021 that were murdered in this nation. We have chosen to increase visibility to bring public attention to this senseless acts of violence by hosting TDoR vigils in Palm Springs, Riverside, Crestline and Victorville. The Palm Springs TDoR has historically been held at Palm Springs City Hall, those in Riverside, Crestline and Victorville will be announced soon.
