Virtually no one read the 2,700 page infrastructure bill but you can be sure like all the other large spending bills its filled with what's known as porkbarrel spending and this one is no different. Democrats in their not so clever way have identified for the first time ever social programs as infrastructure which is absurd. Those Republicans signing off on it well you'll see where they've been paid off in the bill if you dig deep enough, this is common practice among politicians. As with Obama's "shovel ready" infrastructure bill that resulted in very little real infrastructure being built, the same obstacles exist now as then so once roads and bridges as well as all the other physical infrastructure plans go through the grinder of regulations, environmental impact studies and approvals very little will be built for all that money allocated and the money will disappear like a fart in the wind. Unfortunately you just don't understand how the system works, politicians make sweeping all encompassing promises then when little happens blame one another while scratching their heads and propose and even large spending bill because the last one wasn't enough. It's a shell game with our borrowed money that will never be repaid. If the infrastructure bill represents "overspending" then. why are the republicans signing off on it? The primary reason why the bill involves so much money is because the last three presidents have ignored our infrastructure. Bush failed at maintaining our infrastructure. Obama identified the problem that is our failing infrastructure but did nothing to fix it. Trump claimed that he would make our infrastructure a priority but never mentioned it again after being elected. These failure represent 20 years of neglect on our roads, our power grids, our pipeline systems, bridges and transit systems. If you defer the maintenance on. your house for 20 years it will be very expensive to restore. If you disagree with the cost of the bill, you can thank our prior presidents for kicking this can down the road. This infrastructure bill represents millions of jobs. Engineering, managerial, manufacturing, trucking, blue collar jobs. This infrastructure bill represents reduced traffic for urban areas. This bill will improve our water systems, our power supplies, add greener energy and even improve your cellular service. If Trump had proposed this exact same infrastructure bill, his supporters would be cheering. But because Trump puppets see this bill is a win for Biden, they oppose it. Lastly, overspending on our infrasture right now is far cheaper than. neglecting it for another 4 years.
