COACHELLA, CA — An aggressive attack by firefighters limited a wildfire in Coachella from spreading beyond a small patch of vegetation and several palm trees Saturday. The fire was reported at 9:15 a.m. in the 45900 block of Harrison Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. It burned a half acre of vegetation and 22 palm trees but "aggressive suppression efforts by firefighters" led to the blaze being contained in about 40 minutes, fire officials said. No injuries were reported. —City News Service
