Volunteer Musicians Needed for Classical Gospel Concert

Hello, all! Compton Community SDA Church in Compton, CA is holding its first ever Classical Gospel Outdoor Concert on August 14, 2021 from 5:30-7:30pm. This is an all-white attire event with a red carpet fashion show! We are hosting a free/open community event celebrating gospel music with classical music. Several members of the Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles will be accompanying our house band and singers. This is going to be an incredible event. We are well over-budget for this event right now, as it is our initial Classical Gospel celebration, which we hope to make an annual event. The concert will be held outdoors and is free of admission to everyone and Alvin Chea from the Grammy award winning, a cappella group, Take 6 will be the master of ceremonies. I am inquiring if any wonderful musicians would be willing to volunteer/donate their skills and time to this event. I do not make this request lightly, as I greatly respect musicians. I myself minored in music and play the flute, piccolo, guitar, and sing. So I value and respect the skills needed to be able to play any instrument. If you would be willing to volunteer to help make this event a resounding success for our community, I would be absolutely thrilled. Skill level is intermediate. We have 2 rehearsals in our location as well and refreshments are provided. It is not often that those in our community who are under-privileged have the opportunity to experience something of this magnitude so your participation would be amazing.
