Description
Reconnecting to our ancestors through traditional ways of being. Join us for a camping retreat located deep within the Oakland Hills, in a beautiful forest setting right next to calm blue waters. We will be hosting a one day healing retreat in the forest with the option of overnight camping. There will be food, hiking, beach views and a list of group activities you and your friends can join in on! Our goal is to create a space where folks can commune together safely while we reconnect to our best self through traditional ways of healing. The past year has been tough on all of us so the organizers of the event, Joy and Hadiza, have decided to put their skills together to create a weekend of letting worries go and welcoming in the love. We will start the day with off with a quick check-in & group meditation activity before we prepare for a short hike down along the forest trailways. During the hike you will get a chance to learn about anxiety-reducing medicinal plants in the region. Here we will teach you how to identify local plant medicine and prepare it for use. Free snacks and water will be available for our campers to grab throughout the day. Following our hike each camper will have time to relax into their camping tent(For overnight guests only) or they can relax in one of our tree hammocks overlooking the lake. To assist each of our attendees in their personal healing/growth journey we would like to offer a movement session based in the ancient art form called, "Kemetic Yoga". This type of Yoga focuses on self-development by healing the body, mind, and spirit through regulating breathing patterns and low impact poses. We will bring the evening to an end with a delicious meal served around the campfire where our attendees can get a chance to network before we bring the day to a close. OVERNIGHT GUESTS: There are public showers available that will be a short drive away or you can use our Pop-Up Camping Style Shower. Due to Covid-19 regulations All Overnight Guests must remain on our campground location unless exiting or returning to the park or for emergency purposes. We do ask that guests please bring your face mask. FOOD RESTRICTIONS: Please let us know if you have any food restrictions or allergies. LOOKING FOR MORE INFO? It is important for us to reduce our carbon footprint and help reduce the environmental harm that can be caused by over-tourism. With this in mind we will be emailing all ticket holders the address, rally location, and gate codes once their ticket purchase is paid in full and confirmed. Ticket holders will also receive more information including: itinerary, supplies needed list, and more details on the event.
