(Sac Observer)Folks in the River District and along Hwy 160 are starting to see murals pop up in the area. They are part of an effort to create public spaces that promote people's health, happiness and well-being. The murals will all have a "metamorphosis" theme. (Sacramento City Express) Monday's events in Sacramento Educators and their families can enjoy FREE admission to Sea Quest today! (7 pm) Sacramento Patch Notebook It's National Ice Cream Sandwich Day, so I Googled to see if Sacramento had anything unique to share. Man, am I glad I did!! Check this out from The Parlor ! They take your favorite ice cream flavor (choose from classics like vanilla and cake batter, or tantalize your taste buds with something more exotic like Thai tea or coffee with Nutella swirl) and then they seal it inside of a HOT DONUT! Are you kidding me? That's where you'll find me today, for sure! I, personally, don't understand the draw for this one, but if you like stinky flowers, you're in luck! There is a corpse flower that is about to bloom in Curtis Park. Earlier this summer one of these funky flowers bloomed in Roseville and it was all the rage. Apparently, they're notoriously difficult to get to flower, so if you missed your first chance, you'd better jump on this one. You might not get another chance for awhile.
