SAN RAFAEL, CA — San Rafael High School is readying to hold a tribute event in honor a beloved music teacher who died unexpectedly last month. The SRHS Music Boosters will host the "Music Tribute for Sean Castle" Aug. 29 at 4 p.m. at the San Rafael Community Center. The longtime music teacher who helped create an award-winning program at the school died unexpectedly from an apparent heart attack, SRHS Principal Glenn Dennis wrote in a letter addressed to the school's extended community last month. Castle was 43. "Sean spent his entire 20-year career in education at SRHS, where he shared the joys of music with thousands of students, staff, and families," Dennis wrote. "His impact on the community extends beyond the award-winning music program he helped create. Sean inspired his students with his dedication, care, and his charisma. "A proud Bulldog himself, he was an ambassador for the school, projecting positive energy through music at games, graduations, parades, and community venues."
