You gotta love the Progressive mind filled with ideas and notions that defy the facts. There is no demand for immigrants nobody has put out help wanted signs in foreign countries for dishwashers or lawn mowers and isn't that racist to think that's all these illegals are qualified to do, are restaurant dishes unwashed or lawns not mowed prior to this years wave of illegals? In fact name the year or years in the past century where either were underserved. The facts are there is no need for these unskilled workers we have millions of them already and that includes agriculture and construction workers. The businesses that hire them literally pay them slave wages, are you in favor of underpaid over worker illegals so you can get services on the cheap? Under the Biden Administration they come, are given medical care, food and shelter even bused and flown to cities then dumped on the streets to figure out how to survive, is this your way to show compassion to people who can barely speak or read English with little money and no place to live? Here's the truth, Democrats are always looking to create a population who need them depending on government to provide for their existence. That's why to this day after close to 70 years and nearly 20 Trillion spent on poverty programs more people in the US live below the poverty line than ever before. Democrats create and maintain the impoverished, when they can't find enough locally they import them. They need them to grease the wheels of government programs to keep their government jobs. That's it and that's all. Immigration is as simple as supply and demand. When there are no more job opportunities in the U.S., people will stop migrating here. Immigrants seek opportunities. It is that simple. Our immigration laws were written nearly a century ago. They are antiquated. They need to be updated. All immigrants seeking entry to the U.S. must be vetted for criminal activity. All workers in America (documented or not) need to pay income taxes. If you do not want immigrants to enter this nation, you better start teaching your children to wash dishes, mow lawns, and set tile for a living. America directs our youth to avoid these jobs. We teach our kids to seek better opportunities. This is great. But we need workers to fill these jobs. If immigrants are willing to do it, it is a win for all of us. note; immigrants are NOT the ones exploiting our unemployment system or extended covid benefits. Americans are the ones doing that. Immigrants are filling the voids.
