Giving it another Go - if I can find a Bass Player

Howdy. I'm an aging guitar player trying to get back out playing... or so I think. Actually, the thought scares me to death. Things are pretty different than when I last gave it a shot. I'm probably just imagining this, but I'd like to find a crowd that's also tired of being screamed at from all angles. One that just wants to relax, hear some cool old tunes at a volume they can talk over. I'd especially like to find a bass player who actually enjoys playing simple bass lines. My playing tends to fall apart when it gets too far out. Over the course of a set, I like to cover a few old country tunes, some Clapton, Dylan, Dead, Stones, blues, folk-rock... stuff that needs a solid foundation. Here's the kicker. I'd like you to live near enough to Lindero Canyon Road as possible so that we can get together easily, on the spur of the moment even. I'm thinking West Valley to Newbury Park. In your reply, if you can, please tell me about yourself, the kind of music you like to play the most, and anything else that will help us get together. Some links of your playing would be nice. I ask this because I know my limits.
