The Healthy Havenscourt Collaborative -- a group of East Oakland residents and organizations working to improve the collective community health of the Havenscourt neighborhood -- is conducting a survey this summer to learn critical information about the community's needs, desires, and wishes for the future of their neighborhood. If you like the idea of making casual conversation and conducting survey research, this might be the perfect volunteer opportunity for you. Volunteers would report directly to EBALDC's Community Organizer, who maps out the daily routes for flyering and door-knocking. As a team with EBALDC's staff members and other volunteers, you will be going door-to-door to conduct surveys and if no one is home leaving a flyer. This volunteer opportunity would also come with the opportunity to be paid a stipend of $18 an hour for each hour working with the team. Speaking Spanish or another language that is heavily spoken in this area (Arabic, Chinese, Vietnamese) is a major plus. Residents of East Oakland are highly encouraged to apply.
