INDIO, CA — A pedestrian killed by a train Thursday morning in Indio has been identified as a Corona man. Matthew Kohatsu, 23, was struck and killed on railroad tracks at Avenue 48 and Indio Boulevard shortly after 6:30 a.m., according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau. Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department and the Indio Police Department responded. There was no word on why Kohatsu was on the tracks. The Indio Police Department was investigating. No further details were available.
