Hey nerds- I'm a guitar player looking for a heavy band to play in. Here's a little about me:
- I've been playing in bands of all types since 1999. Originals, covers, metal, R&B, you name it. So... I'm pretty well-rounded.
- My influences range from death metal to soul, and on my main Spotify playlist, you will find Prince next to Cannibal Corpse, buttressed by acts like Duran Duran, Rush, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, James Taylor, James Brown, Sepultura, and Tom Petty (with and without the Heartbreakers). I have tons more "favorite bands", underground and mainstream, ranging from extreme metal (Strapping Young Lad being, in my opinion, the paradigm) to Enya. My point is, while I prefer playing heavy stuff, I'm not gonna pretend that I don't have an affinity for cheese.
- I am technically proficient. That said, I'd prefer to be in a band that prioritizes groove and melody over flashiness and speed. My motto is "I want to still be able to play it after I've had a couple shots".
- This should go without saying, but I have pro gear (tube heads/cab/pedals, digital rig, 6 and 7-string guitars in various tunings) a car, and am gainfully employed.
- To expand upon the point above: I am 40. The days when I would have been interested in touring are long past me. However, I do want to write and record as much as possible, and regularly gig. I'd probably fit best in a band with people my own age that are of the same mindset.
- I can sing pretty well too. I'm not the greatest, but I can sing in key and project without blowing my voice out after 2 songs.
Anyway... if this sounds like something you're looking for, hit me up!
