Nevada City Film Festival presents the family-friendly Movies Under the Pines in Pioneer Park, Nevada City. For summer 2021, the Nevada City Film Festival (NCFF) presents Movies Under the Pines, an outdoor cinema experience for the entire family, Fridays, July 9, and August 13 at the Pioneer Park Bandshell in Nevada City. Friday, July 9 we will screen Jurassic Park (PG-12, 2hr 6min). In Steven Spielberg's massive blockbuster, paleontologists Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) and mathematician Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) are among a select group chosen to tour an island theme park populated by dinosaurs created from prehistoric DNA. While the park's mastermind, billionaire John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), assures everyone that the facility is safe, they find out otherwise when various ferocious predators break free and go on the hunt. "The effects have barely aged and the joy is timeless. Take a child who's never seen it and watch their imagination expand before your eyes." - Empire Magazine "This movie doesn't just stand the test of time, it transcends it." - Toronto Star The film festival brings in state of the art projection and sound to create an outdoor movie theatre on the grass at Pioneer Park. Beer, wine, popcorn, and soft drinks are available for purchase. Outside food and non-alcoholic drinks allowed. Outside alcoholic beverages prohibited. Blankets and low back chairs are suggested. Gates open at 8:00pm and the film will begin at 8:30pm. Tickets $8/Per Person or $30/Per Family (four people).
