Are you suffering from Bipolar Depression, between the age of 18-65 years old, and interested in an experimental treatment?
The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston is investigating the effects of Candesartan as an adjunctive treatment for bipolar depression. We will recruit 10 participants who suffer from Bipolar Disorder and are currently experiencing a depressive episode. All participants will receive the study drug for 4 weeks, and a placebo pill for another 4 weeks. As this is an adjunctive treatment, we can only include patients who are currently on a therapeutic dose of a common mood stabilizer (except lithium).
