SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — Sarasota County will host a communitywide cleanup in the Lake Sarasota area Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. The event encourages residents in this area to clean up their properties and garages by gathering "discarded household items, appliances, junk, tree trimmings and other garbage," the county said in a news release. The county will provide dumpsters for free at Sarasota Baptist Church at 7091 Proctor Road in Sarasota. Masks are required and county staff will require vehicles to queue at this site in order to adhere to social distancing guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the county said. Additionally, county staff will not be able to handle any materials brought to the site due to CDC health and safety guidelines. Like what you're reading?
