'California Reparations Committee Debates Direct Payments'

Quoting from the Lost Coast Outhouse, who is quoting something they got for free, off the Internet, to use as filler, to disguise the fact that they don't employ any real reporters: For more than three decades, Black members of Congress have introduced legislation to study the lasting harms of slavery on African Americans, and propose remedies. Year after year, the federal proposal languished. Now, California is going it alone. This month, California’s first-in-the-nation task force to study reparations met for the first time, kicking off a two-year process to study the consequences of slavery and systemic racism against African Americans in California. The reparations committee of nine prominent lawyers, academics, politicians, religious and civil rights leaders — many of whom are descendants of slaves — will make formal recommendations on how the state should make reparations. “You are here today not just to seek an answer to say was there harm, but your task is to determine the depth of the harm and the ways in which we are to repair that harm,” Secretary of State Shirley Weber, a former state Assembly member who introduced the legislation last year, told the reparations committee at the start of the six-hour meeting. And she don't look like she been starving, either. Will the white part of her have to pay reparations to the black part of her? Inquiring minds want to know. If race is a social construct, why do people keep talking about it and perpetuating the social construct they claim to be in opposition to? I propose that we give everyone a DNA test and fiscally punish or reward them for the proportion of their DNA that is or is not linked to so-called "black" genes and so-called "white" genes. If you have more "white" DNA than you have "black" DNA, then you pay more than you get. If you have more "black" DNA than you have "white" DNA, then you get more than you pay. If you're Mexican or Asian, you go back where you came from because you don't fit into the California Reparations Committee's grand scheme of things and we don't want you complicating things, just when we are so close to a payout! Ka-CHING!! I'm pretty sure this woman and her female family members got a free ride through college because of race and also because of gender. I'm pretty sure this woman and her family members have been the beneficiary of free or discounted housing as a result of race and gender. I'm pretty sure this woman and her offspring have been the recipient of free food, free money, and free healthcare as a result of race and her gender. No matter how much you give this woman she will continue to seek reasons for you to give her and those related to her, more. That is what they elected her to do. That is her job. Mind you, there were no slaves, in California. This woman has a doctoral degree. Did she cheat? I wonder.
