2 South County Men Killed In Head-On Crash: Coroner IDs

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Santa Cruz County's coroner has identified two men killed Sunday night in a high-speed, head-on crash near Corralitos. Jorge Betanco, 33, of Freedom and Anaya Rocha Jr., 26, of Watsonville died at the scene. The men were speeding in a Ford while heading southbound on Corralitos Road south of Varni Road when the driver of lost control of the car and veered into the northbound lane, colliding head-on with a Honda, the California Highway Patrol said. A 32-year-old woman driving the Honda was taken to a trauma center with major injuries, the CHP said. The cause of the crash is under investigation and alcohol and drugs have not been ruled out as contributing factors, the CHP said. — Bay City News contributed to this report
