BUILDING MATERIALS SALESPERSON, F/T, Urban Ore in Berkeley. Want to help people and the planet? Help customers find their best solutions from our salvaged building materials outside, year-round. Environmentally oriented, locally owned, for-profit company. Hard physical labor with lots of walking and lifting. Safe work habits are critical. Must have good people skills and be self-directed while working cooperatively with teammates to give customers excellent, friendly service. Experience with building materials preferred, but all applications will be read with an open mind. Work ethic and reliability are most important. Must be able to work both weekend days. Will be trained to negotiate, run point of sales system. Must be able to add, subtract, write receipts, spell simple words related to building materials (we can provide a spelling sheet), and handle cash. Compensation: base wage plus company-wide income sharing averages over $18.00/hour to start; fully paid gold-level health and dental coverage; 22 days off a year with 10 days paid; 50% employee discount on in-house purchases for personal use only.
