Temporary child care center custodian, full-time hours. Job term is June 28 - August 13. Experience required. Applicant should also be comfortable around young children. Must pass fingerprint background check, health clearance, and TB test. COVID-compliant workplace--CDC, OSHA, and CDSS procedures followed. Well-ventilated classrooms/ HEPA air purifiers. JOB DESCRIPTION: The person selected for this position will be responsible for the general maintenance of the building and grounds, and will keep them in a hygienic, safe, and presentable condition. The person will arrange for outside services when necessary to keep building and grounds in good repair. This person will work under the day-to-day supervision of the Director. QUALIFICATIONS: The person selected for this position must be experienced in the care and maintenance of buildings and grounds, must have a basic knowledge of common household repairs and simple gardening techniques, must be willing to participate in some in-service training in child development, and be able to relate well to children. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintaining floors and keeping walls, doors, furnishings, and fixtures clean, safe, operable, and presentable. Sanitizing toilets, washbasins, and restroom floors daily. Cleaning and sanitizing tables and chairs, sweeping and mopping or vacuuming all floors as needed, at least daily. Thoroughly cleaning each classroom at least daily. Assisting teachers with daily laundry tasks. Monthly steam cleaning of carpets. Keeping entrances, walks, porches, steps, and parking areas swept and free of debris and other obstructions. Maintaining electrical fixtures in good working order, changing light bulbs as needed, and performing minor repairs as needed. Keeping toilet tissue, paper towels, and soap dispensers adequately supplied. Keeping the landscaping and grounds neat and attractive at all times. Children will be asked to assist in gardening and other outdoor chores and, on occasion, with some of the indoor chores as well. Helping to keep the kitchen in a sanitary condition and assisting in all housekeeping duties in relation to serving food per CACFP regulations. Assisting in putting away deliveries.
