Description

**In your reply, please include an email address where we can reach you. Craigslist's masked emails don't always go through** RIFF, a *volunteer-run* music news publication, is one of the largest music news publications in the SF Bay Area, with 120,000 readers monthly. We're searching for a *volunteer* concert review editor to help lead writers and photographers as concerts get back in the swing of things. Duties for this position include editing the work of others while writing your own, and building relationships with concert promoters and publicists. One of the perks is going to concerts. Generally, the best person for this volunteer position would need to be a night owl with editing experience. You'll be supported by other editors. As a team of real news journalists, we care a lot about integrity and news. We've led coverage of the music industry's and Bay Area's response to the pandemic and social justice issues. It's also a lot of fun. We're a staff of about 50 volunteers who work closely together on deadline. We shape the best coverage of music in the Bay Area, and we'll eventually make some money in the process, too. Your experience: You're a college senior or done with school, with: * Journalism experience, preferably with traditional media like newspapers, as well as AP style * Experience writing or editing on deadline * Familiar with various types of music * And, the big one again: on nights when we have a concert review, being available for an unpaid position that all of us take seriously. Check out RIFFmagazine.com. If you're interested, reply with an email address where we can get in touch with you.
