The new chamber of commerce will help establish, grow, and strengthen a network of Filipino American businesses and entrepreneurs in SoFL!
U.S. Filipino Chamber of Commerce of South Florida (dba The AmFil Chamber) Launches During Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month
The AmFil Chamber South Florida’s official launch event will be held on Tuesday, May 25th, 2021 from 6:30 to 9:00 PM at Bubbles + Pearls located in Wilton Manors in Broward County.
The restaurant is owned by Filipino entrepreneur, Chef Josie Smith-Malave, who also serves as the chamber’s vice-president. The event, which is sponsored by Don Papa Philippine Rum and Topo Chico, includes a cocktail hour, short program, raffle, entertainment and plenty of opportunities to learn more about and support the chamber.
The launch event is themed as a “business shower,” a term coined by Elon Musk to refer to when a friend starts a business, people should come together, celebrate them, and bring resources for their business start. The chamber’s business shower features a membership drive, business matching, and volunteer opportunities for the community.
The launch event has limited capacity, and masks must be worn when not eating or drinking due to COVID-19 safety precautions.
