PESCADERO, CA — Crews rescued three people to safety over the weekend after they were stranded on a rock near Pescadero State Beach in San Mateo County. The people, who were three young men between the ages of 18 and 20, had ventured about 200 yards offshore and were clinging onto a rock, trapped by the tide on Saturday. Crews from across San Mateo County assisted in the rescue, which culminated in two of them being rescued via ship and the other airlifted to safety by the Coast Guard. They were treated for hypothermia symptoms, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. "We do these all the time," Cal Fire Battalion Chief Brian Pottenger told the Chronicle. "People climb out there all the time to get selfies or explore."
