At last; SANE police action in Novato and South

Some poor soul stole a bicycle and used a knife as a threatening weapon telling the bicycle owner if it was reported the owner of the bike would be killed. Obviously this criminal is mentally imbalanced. The house where he was hiding was surrounded by law enforcement including a helicopter and a dog. The guy didn't want to surrender and come out. The cops actually worked on him for 4 hours unsuccessfully and did not want to incite more violence. They knew where he resided and they did not storm the house and cause a military style attack upon this pathetic creature. They actually retreated and left an officer in front of the house for surveillance with communication. I have never heard of this type of consideration before from police who usually go testosterone crazy. This reasonableness from law enforcement needs to be commended and expanded throughout the country. What do you think?
