LOS GATOS, CA — A Los Gatos bakery owner was arrested on charges that he sexually assaulted female customers who entered his store under the guise of offering bread-making lessons at the business. In a news release Thursday, the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department announced charges of sexual battery and false imprisonment against 75-year-old Ali Asghar Shemirani, the owner of Mama's Bakery on Santa Cruz Avenue in downtown Los Gatos. Shemirani was arrested on Wednesday at the bakery and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail after police received a report of a sexual assault on Mar. 15. Detectives said Shemirani befriended female customers and offered them lessons on bread-making.
