Hi! I'm Alanna (they/them), call me Al. I'm a Memphis-raised, West Hollywood-livin bassist and contralto vocalist/screamer. Find me at @TGRbass/TGRblair. I'm amazingly stable, 420 friendly, allergic to racism + transphobia + bigotry. Spent 13 awesome years in NYC, in bands like @sumpumps, @justfabulousband & #sababarocksyourfaceoff. Played in venues like Niagara, Otto's Shrunken Head, Mercury Lounge, Trash Bar, and Kenny's Castaways. Moved out here in July 2020 and have been laying low, but with today's vaccination comes new plans! I bring musical precision, enthusiasm, and raw energy. Raised on classic/hair rock, riot grrl, and punk, my music is big and often funny. Favorite bands include L7, River City Tanlines, Betty Blowtorch, Lunachicks, Frightwig, Bantam, The Gits, The Distillers, Joan Jett, X-Ray Spex, MC5, and RATM. I challenge gender, race, class, and heteronormativity in rock music. Seeking an established band, or experienced members starting a new project. Queerness is a must. I'm especially interested in amplifying BIPOC artists.
