Description

PETALUMA, CA — Lanes on U.S. Highway 101 in Petaluma will be shifted toward the median during overnight work Tuesday through Friday. At least one lane in each direction will remain open during the work from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on 101 between Lakeville Highway (State Route 116) and the Corona overpass. The shift is being done for a widening project that will convert the outside shoulders into new traffic lanes. Motorists are advised to use caution driving on the new alignment. The widening project will add a carpool lane to northbound and southbound Highway 101, creating a six-lane freeway of three lanes in each direction. The project is one of 13 in the Marin/Sonoma Narrows widening project to add a carpool lane in each direction of Highway 101 between State Route 37 in Marin and Corona Road in northern Petaluma.
