NOVATO, CA — A plan to fence off a path used by hikers in the Hamilton neighborhood has stirred controversy, The Marin Independent Journal reports.
The city is considering installing a 4-foot wire fence in several locations along a path near the San Pablo Bay according to the report.
The plan aims to keep hikers on the San Francisco Bay trail rather than on maintenance roads the encroach on residents' homes, the report said.
Complaints from residents that hikers were using the maintenance roads led the development of the plan to fence off the paths, the report said.
