WATSONVILLE, CA — A mass COVID-19 vaccination site coming to Watsonville will be able to accommodate up to 210 appointments per day. The site will operate 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Monday in the ADA-accessible city council chambers of Old City Hall at 250 Main St. Here's who can get vaccinated there as of Monday: Phase 1A health care workers (see details, proof of employment required)Santa Cruz County residents age 75 or older (proof of age required)Residents of 98019, 95076 and 95077 zip codes who are age 65 or older (proof of age and residence required) OptumServe staff will administer the vaccine; appointments can be made here or by calling 877-218-0381. The county said in a news release that it will not tolerate line-skipping, as vaccines given to elderly people are 300 times more likely to be life-saving than those administered to people under the age of 50.
