Touro University California is seeking research participants for studies on how dietary fructose affects metabolic risk factors for diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Location:
Metabolic Research Center, Touro University California, Mare Island, Vallejo
Eligibility:
• Men and women ages 20-55 years
• Non-diabetic or pre-diabetic
• Women should not be pregnant or nursing
• No history of HIV or liver disease
• Not taking diabetes or lipid-lowering medication
Details:
• Meals will be provided 3 days prior to study visits and during study visits.
• 2 preliminary visits (approx. 1 hour and 4 hours in length)
• 4 study visits, about once a month (approx. 7-8 hours in length)
Compensation:
• Participants receive a stipend for each study visit completed, up to $1000 for completing all 6 study visits.
